The Honda OEM Radio Will Not Display Disc Numbers Above 6 Or 9 Depend ing On Radio Model And Firmware It Will Display "No Disc" But Will Work And Change Correctly All The Way To 99 Discs, When Reading This Please Consider Even If You Use Just 6 Folders (If The "No Disc" Warning Bothers You) That Is 6x99 Songs = 594 Songs Say At An Average Of 4.5 Minutes Thats Is Over 44 Hours Of Music, Now Some People Choose To Compile Complete Albums To One Track So You Have The Potential To Have Significantly More Time. Please Bare In Mind This Is Our Basic Unit It Does Not Support Automatic Folder To Folder Changing And WIll Not Pause When You Select Another Audio Source Although It Will Resume Playing From Where You Stop If You Turn Off The Ignition
Will This Unit Flatten My Bike's Battery?
The short answer is as with all electrical equipment that is constantly powered by a battery eventually it will, the unit draws 8mA when the ignition is off that equates to several weeks of standby on a standard OEM battery. So for those of you who use the bike every day or every few days you should not have a problem but for those of you who have to store bikes because of weather you should install the unit in a location where you would be able to disconnect the plug to the unit to allow for extended storage
I Have Heard That Some Bikes Audio Controls Don't Work With This Unit
This is not really the whole story, our units will work on all the GL1800 variants the problems reported have been with less than 3% of the installations and are related to a OEM radio issue that sometimes requires that you have to reset the player having lost the ability to change disc or track, this normally involves switching the ignition on and off. We are working to identify the cause and if possible a cure, please note this is not just limited to our product but competing products and the OEM CB unit. the majority of our customers remain 100% happy with the product including most who encounter this issue who appreciate that it is a bike related issue.
